The Crown glass technique is one of the earliest styles of sheet glass manufacturing. Crown Glass, a heavy wavy glass, begins with a bubble of glass blown into a globe. It is then transferred to the glassmaker’s pontil to be rotated at speed, until centrifugal force forms a large circular plate. The finished “table” of glass appears thin, lustrous, and highly polished. Concentric Cords and reams are resulting characteristics of the spinning process.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the best glass for my space?

In general, focus on design, safety, and functionality. Tempered glass offers a sleek, modern aesthetic, ideal for contemporary spaces where durability is important, like partitions or doors. For greater design flexibility, laminated glass allows for custom colors, patterns, and other designs, making it perfect for statement pieces like feature walls or dividers. Depending on where and how the fabricated glass is used, you should consider factors such as sound installation and UV protection. Our experts are here to match your design vision with the best type of glass for your home or project.

What can I print on glass?

Almost anything! Glass printing combines graphic design and high-powered machinery with inkjet technology to get your design from file straight to glass. Once printed, the ceramic ink is permanently bonded into the glass after the tempering process.

What is the lead time for my custom door?

Lead times will vary but you can typically expect from 7 to 14 days depending on the materials and customizations for your specific glass project. We work with you directly to offer you the fastest turnaround possible to meet your needs.

What types of glass do you offer for barn doors?

Choose from decorative pattern glass, frosted glass, and printed glass designs. There are lots of options! We offer 18 types of specialty glass, all of which are 10mm thick specifically for doors.

Do you ship barn doors?

Yes, doors can be shipped anywhere in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. We’ll advise you on shipping times and any other logistics to get your doors to you directly.
